What is inside

Six tools most groups buy separately, in one shared space.

Next to each one, what that kind of tool usually costs on its own, at published entry prices for a small organization. Ranges are from public roundups, checked 2026-11-07, and stated as a range because the sources differ above the entry tier.

  • Email newsletter

    Organization Plan
    • A block composer with saved layouts, scheduling, and per-issue analytics
    • Members and confirmed subscribers in one audience, double opt-in for anyone from outside
    • Up to 10 issues a month at the largest band, with no contact tiers
    • A first draft from what actually happened, for a person to edit and send

    Usually costs on its own

$12 to $35 a month at 500 contacts, rising with the list

The plan does not price by list size. Issue volume scales with the size of the sphere.

  • Event tickets and workshop seats

    Free for everyone
    • Priced tiers and pay-what-you-can with a floor
    • Checkout through your own payout account; the organizer is the merchant of record
    • The organizer keeps the whole ticket price. Revel Sphere takes no share
    • Only the card processing of your own payment account applies

    Usually costs on its own

A service fee per paid ticket plus card processing per order

Ticketing is part of the free community side, not the plan.

  • Website

    Organization Plan
    • A branded site on your own domain or a revelsphere.org address, built from templates and blocks
    • Events with RSVP, programs, impact, team, and volunteer intake that fill in from the sphere
    • One line of code that puts your gatherings and open roles on a website you already have
    • A link to your own donation page, if you have one; the money never passes through us

    Usually costs on its own

$13 to $32 a month for a site builder, before any plugins

  • Grant tracking, writing, and reporting

    Organization Plan
    • A curated opportunity directory matched to your sphere, with a letter of intent drafted from real numbers
    • A pipeline from researching to reporting, with deadlines and award-to-ledger
    • An application workspace, an answer library, a readiness guide, and the Grant Writer
    • Funder-ready reports by date range and program: hours never blended, people served as counts, every number opens

    Usually costs on its own

$299 a month and up for a dedicated grant research platform

The directory is curated and matched, not an exhaustive funder database. Reports and writing are where the plan carries the most.

  • Volunteer coordination

    Free for everyone
    • Sign-ups with capacity, shifts, and an automatic waitlist
    • Hours counted at check-in; standing-role hours logged in a tap and confirmed by an organizer
    • The day-of desk: roster, headcount, door signs, hours at wrap-up
    • Recurring series set up once

    Usually costs on its own

$15 to $140 a month at published entry prices; many are quote only

Free for every group, with no plan involved.

  • The board desk

    Organization Plan
    • A Comms Plan with drafts from the guide for announcements, thank-yous, follow-ups, and partnership notes
    • Meeting minutes drafted from the notes, with action items matched to real members
    • A weekly list of what is waiting: grant reports due, sign-ups unanswered, a letter overdue
    • The guide proposes; a person approves and sends from their own inbox

    Usually costs on its own

$20 to $30 a month for a general writing assistant

Every line in the middle column is something the product does today. Prices for other categories come from public roundups, not from any vendor, and are re-checked each quarter.

Tickets

The organizer keeps the whole ticket price.

Seats and workshop tickets check out through your sphere's own payout account, so you are the merchant of record and Revel Sphere takes no share. Type a price to see the difference on one ticket. Ticketing is part of the free community side.

A typical event marketplace keeps
$3.44
3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, plus 2.9% processing
On Revel Sphere, you keep
$23.98
The whole price, less 2.9% + $0.30 card processing on your own payment account. Revel Sphere takes no share.

Marketplace rates are published US figures from third-party roundups, checked 2026-11-07. Your own payment account sets its processing rate.

A garden crew, a reading circle, a tenants' association, or a mutual aid network runs its whole life here at no cost: spheres, events with RSVP and tickets, sign-ups and shifts, hours at check-in, standing roles, planning, broadcasts, and the day-of desk. The plan is for the organization that wants a public website, grant tools, funder-ready reports, and a board desk on top. Paying for it helps keep the commons free.

Questions

What people ask before they start

Is there a per-ticket service fee?

No. The organizer keeps the whole ticket price. Checkout runs through your own payout account, so the only cost is that account’s card processing. Event marketplaces usually charge a service fee on every paid ticket plus processing on the order; on a $50 ticket that is about $5. Ticketing is part of the free community side.

Does the price go up as our contact list grows?

No. The Organization Plan is priced by your annual operating budget, not by how many people you write to. Email tools usually price by contact count, so a list that grows costs more each year. Here the newsletter reaches members and confirmed subscribers at the same price.

Do we still need a separate website builder?

Not for most groups. The plan includes a branded site on your own domain, built from templates and blocks, that fills in from your sphere: events with RSVP, programs, impact, team, and volunteer intake. If you already have a site you love, keep it; one line of code puts your gatherings and open roles on it.

Is the grant tool a funder database?

It is a curated opportunity directory matched to your sphere, not an exhaustive database. Dedicated research platforms start near $299 a month and index far more funders. Where the plan carries the most is the pipeline, the application workspace, the Grant Writer drafting from your real numbers, and the funder-ready report at the end.

What does the plan cost against buying these tools separately?

At published entry prices, checked 2026-11-07, the low end of a separate newsletter tool, site builder, grant tool, and writing assistant comes to about $344 a month before ticket fees. The Organization Plan is $29 a month for groups under $250k, and the same tools at every band. We show ranges rather than a savings number because the sources differ on larger plans.

How much does the Organization Plan cost?

It’s a sliding scale by your annual operating budget: $29 a month for an annual budget under $250k, $79 a month for an annual budget $250k–$1M, $149 a month for an annual budget over $1M. Every band gets the same tools. The scale only changes what you pay. One plan covers every sphere your organization runs.

How does the free trial work?

The 30-day trial starts from the plan finder or your sphere’s billing page. Checkout asks for a card, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel from the billing portal before then and you won’t be charged at all.

Which budget band should we pick?

The one that matches your annual operating budget. We don’t ask for paperwork. We trust you. A group with no budget at all picks the first band, $29 a month.

Do we need to be a registered nonprofit?

No. Any group with an organization sphere can start the plan: a coalition, a fiscally sponsored project, a mutual aid network, or a tenants’ association. No EIN or board required.

What stays free, and what does the plan add?

Spheres, events, sign-ups, standing roles, hours, and planning are free for everyone, always. The plan adds the outward-facing layer: a living website with volunteer intake and recruitment source tracking, grant pipelines, programs with outcome targets, funder-ready exports, and the Grant Writer.

Can we cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from the billing portal and the plan runs through the end of the period you’ve paid for. Your sphere, members, events, and history stay, since the community side is free. Your website, grants, and programs stay saved for when you turn the plan back on.

What if a payment doesn’t go through?

Your tools stay on while the payment is retried, so a card hiccup never locks your team out in the middle of a grant cycle. Update the card from the billing portal whenever it suits you.

We’re a fiscal sponsor with projects under us. What does it cost?

The Umbrella Plan for fiscal sponsors: $2,000 a year covers up to 10 projects, then $180 a year per project through 20 and $90 a year per project after that. Twenty projects come to $3,800 a year; forty come to $5,600. Every covered project gets the organization tools inside its own sphere, and your report rolls them up, 25 projects at a time. It bills on one annual invoice; request it from the plan finder and we set it up with you.

We’re a university, city, county, employer, or United Way with many groups. What does it cost?

The Umbrella Plan for institutions is $149 a month for one invoice and a roll-up report across groups (25 spheres per report), plus $29 a month per group for the first 10 and $19 a month per group after that. Prepay the year and two months are free: forty groups come to $10,090 a year. From about 16 groups on annual billing, the roll-up costs less than each group holding its own plan.

Is there help with the first setup?

Yes. Setup training is $300 for 3 one-on-one sessions, delivered by a partner, and you can add it from the plan finder or ask for it from your sphere’s setup page. The setup page itself walks your team through the website, the first gathering, volunteer intake, and the widget for a site you already have, at no cost.

Does Revel Sphere take a share of ticket sales or donations?

No. Ticket revenue goes to your sphere’s own payout account, and Revel Sphere takes no share. Donations stay on your own giving page. Your website links out to it, and the money never passes through us.

Three questions, about a minute, and the price in plain sight.

The plan finder leads to one card: plant a free sphere, start the 30-day trial, or ask for an Umbrella invoice. Or bring a question to office hours, run as an event on the platform.
